**Job Title:** Cloud FinOps Analyst **Role Summary:** Drive cloud cost optimization and financial governance across AWS (primary) and GCP environments. Partner with engineering, finance, and account owners to ensure cost efficiency, transparency, and accurate reporting while balancing performance and business priorities. **Expectations:** - Maintain budget compliance and proactively identify cost anomalies. - Design and manage chargeback and cost allocation models. - Automate reporting and cost‑control processes. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement optimization initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create and structure new cloud accounts following governance standards. - Monitor daily cloud usage, compare against budgets, and alert stakeholders to potential overspend. - Identify rightsizing, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and other optimization opportunities; manage lifecycle of commitments. - Produce regular cost reports, document cloud commitments, and conduct cost allocation analyses. - Develop and maintain automation scripts/tools (e.g., Python) to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. - Work with Finance and IT teams to refine chargeback models and ensure financial transparency. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in cloud cost control and optimization, especially AWS; familiarity with GCP. - Experience with budget monitoring, anomaly detection, and cost reporting. - Proficiency in Excel and AWS cost management tools. - Strong scripting/automation skills (Python or similar). - Analytical, detail‑oriented, data‑driven mindset with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant cloud or FinOps certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, FinOps Certified Practitioner).
