**Job Title:**
Information System Security Engineer (Senior)
**Role Summary:**
Senior ISSE responsible for designing, implementing, and accrediting secure cloud and network solutions (AWS, Azure) for mission‑critical and national security projects. Conducts cybersecurity research, develops security policies, and supports Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) packages while ensuring compliance with federal standards.
**Expectations:**
- 8+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in secure solution development for incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- 3 + years implementing security controls using emerging technologies.
- Active Secret clearance and Security+ certification.
- Ability to travel up to 25 % and work hybrid (1‑2 days onsite).
- Strong communication skills for presentations and stakeholder interaction.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform cyber‑security research for cloud and network solutions under NAVSEA.
- Develop, define, and assist in implementing security policies, processes, and requirements.
- Create and maintain A&A packages for multiple projects, including Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M).
- Assess and mitigate IS and cloud network vulnerabilities; recommend architectural changes.
- Apply security expertise to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non‑repudiation.
- Utilize security tools (STIG Viewer, eMASS, Tenable Nessus/Security Center) for compliance and vulnerability management.
- Support federal compliance with FISMA, RMF, NIST frameworks, FedRAMP, DoDAF, and related guidance.
**Required Skills:**
- Cloud security (AWS, Azure) and network security.
- Access control, privileged access management, data loss prevention, vulnerability and configuration management.
- Experience with security tools: STIG Viewer, eMASS, Tenable Nessus/Security Center.
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks: FISMA, RMF, NIST 800 series, FedRAMP, DoDAF.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication; presentation delivery.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: Master’s degree; certifications such as CISSP, CASP‑CE, CSSLP, CISSP‑ISSEP, or CISSP‑ISSAP.
