**Job title**: Clinical Bioinformatician – Mat Cover
**Role Summary**:
Develop, validate, and implement AI/ML methods to enhance genomic data analysis in clinical genomics. Design and maintain NGS pipelines for diagnostics and R&D, create web portals for data visualization, and provide bioinformatics support to clinicians and scientists. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards for genetic data handling.
**Expactations**:
- Deliver robust, reproducible NGS analysis workflows and AI/ML integration for cancer diagnostics and research.
- Support clinicians and researchers through pipeline optimization, data interpretation, and user training.
- Lead web portal development for real‑time data visualization and reporting.
- Manage data storage, backup, and secure transfer of patient genomic data.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design, implement, and maintain NGS pipelines for custom panels, WES, gene expression, and methylation studies.
- Develop AI/ML models to improve variant prioritization and clinical interpretation.
- Build and maintain web‑based dashboards for real‑time visualization of sequencing results.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to clinical and research staff.
- Create and update SOPs, documentation, and training materials.
- Ensure data storage, backup, and transfer comply with applicable legal and ethical regulations.
**Required Skills**:
- Strong programming expertise (Python, R, Bash, SQL).
- Experience with NGS data formats (BAM/CRAM, VCF), alignment, variant calling, and annotation pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI/ML libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application to genomics.
- Proficiency in web development frameworks (D3.js, Plotly, React/Angular, or similar).
- Knowledge of data governance, GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards for genomic data.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field.
- Proven experience in clinical genomics bioinformatics workflows.
- Certifications in data science, machine learning, or relevant bioinformatics tools are a plus.
