Job title: Data Architect
Role Summary: Design, lead, and deliver end‑to‑end data architectures for public‑sector clients, translating business and analytical requirements into scalable, secure, cost‑effective data platforms. Drive technical excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and practice growth while ensuring governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
Expactations: • Operate autonomously with strong judgment on complex data challenges.
• Proactively manage escalations and own delivery of effective, scalable solutions.
• Influence both technical and non‑technical audiences, mentoring junior practice members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end‑to‑end data architectures aligned with business, technical, and security needs.
- Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, secure, cost‑effective data platforms.
- Ensure conformity with enterprise data architecture, strategy, and governance standards.
- Lead data architecture reviews and technical design workshops with stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Provide ongoing technical direction to Agile delivery teams, defining MVP data architecture.
- Collaborate across business, product, and IT to secure stakeholder buy‑in and drive data‑driven decisions.
- Define data models, flows, metadata standards, and integration patterns.
- Contribute to data engineering, automation, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices for scalable delivery.
- Embed data security, privacy, compliance, and risk management into all solutions.
- Produce clear architecture documentation using conceptual, logical, and physical models, C4, Archimate, and cloud‑native diagrams.
- Develop new data services for business development and maintain practice profile.
Required Skills:
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and senior‑level communication (C‑suite).
- Proven client‑facing consultancy experience.
- Deep knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in security, privacy, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, data engineering, automation, and IaC.
- Strong documentation skills using C4, Archimate, and cloud‑native diagramming tools.
- Leadership, mentoring, and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), toogaf.
