**Job Title**
Lead Software Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior full‑stack engineering lead responsible for architectural ownership, end‑to‑end delivery, and continuous improvement of large‑scale public‑sector digital solutions. Drives technical strategy, mentors teams, and collaborates across engineering, design, delivery, and data science disciplines.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality, scalable, secure services that meet client and commercial objectives.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and best‑practice adoption across the engineering community.
- Foster client trust through clear guidance, risk mitigation, and robust technical assurance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own end‑to‑end architecture and design, producing and maintaining high‑quality documentation.
- Lead technical activities, estimate effort, and mitigate risks in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, TDD).
- Mentor and coach junior engineers to improve delivery quality and velocity.
- Manage client and partner relationships, advising on technical direction and decision‑making.
- Champion innovation, tooling, and process improvement, including CI/CD, cloud, and DevOps practices.
- Support engineering capability building through recruitment, training, and curriculum development.
**Required Skills**
- 8+ years leading full‑stack teams with advanced .NET, Java, or Python skills and modern JavaScript libraries.
- Proven ownership of large‑scale service architecture, design, and full‑lifecycle delivery.
- Strong grasp of architectural patterns (microservices, serverless) and secure design principles.
- Hands‑on cloud experience (AWS, Azure) delivering well‑architected solutions.
- Expertise in Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), TDD, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Terraform).
- Demonstrated mentoring and coaching capability.
- Excellent client‑engagement and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, or equivalent.
