Job Description: **Job Title** Security Officer (Development Role - Future Security Controller) **Role Summary** Begin as a Security Officer responsible for day‑to‑day physical and operational security, receiving structured training and mentorship. Progress to full Security Controller duties, leading compliance with UK Government security standards across multiple secure sites, and managing security strategies for defence projects. **Expectations** - Complete the comprehensive training plan to advance into a specialist security leadership position. - Demonstrate eligibility for SC Clearance (DV clearance preferred). - Exhibit proactive learning of complex security frameworks and UK security regulations. **Key Responsibilities** *Current (Security Officer)* - Support physical security operations: access control, visitor management, asset protection. - Maintain accurate security records and establish audit schedules. - Deliver security awareness briefings and promote a security‑centric culture. - Log incidents, support investigations, and liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders under supervision. *Future (Security Controller)* - Manage Security Aspects Letters (SALs) and ensure project‑level compliance. - Oversee vetting sponsorship (SC/DV) and aftercare processes. - Lead fit‑out and accreditation of future FSC sites. - Own and maintain Site Security Plans, risk registers, and audit readiness. - Act as the primary liaison with MOD, UKSV, NCSC, and accrediting bodies. - Lead incident response and security assurance activities. **Required Skills** - Background in security within defence, public services, or related sectors. - Strong attention to detail, integrity, and adherence to strict procedures. - Proactive, enthusiastic, and keen to learn complex security frameworks. - Clear communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - UK national or residency meeting UKSV requirements for SC clearance. - SC Clearance eligibility (DV clearance preferred). *Note: Formal degree or additional certifications are not mandatory but may enhance candidacy.*
