Global Head of Physical Security
**Role Summary**
Lead the strategic delivery and governance of physical security for a global data centre organization. Own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of security standards across design, construction, and operation phases, ensuring compliance with national, European and international regulations and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security measures into facility life cycles while balancing cost, risk, and operational requirements.
**Expectations**
- 10+ years of senior security leadership in large high‑security construction projects.
- Deep knowledge of security design principles, protective technologies, and risk mitigation.
- Proven experience in defence, government, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with UK and EU security standards (e.g., NPSA, NIST, NIS2).
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and team‑building capabilities.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain the Global Reference Design for physical security, aligning with corporate objectives and client needs.
- Lead enterprise‑wide threat and risk assessments to inform design and operational planning.
- Govern design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of physical security controls across all facilities.
- Integrate security requirements into design, engineering, and construction phases; provide SME input at milestones and decision points.
- Approve security design for projects, ensuring risk and cost balance.
- Manage lifecycle projects, providing guidance on active facilities.
- Engage senior leadership, design & engineering, project management, technology, legal, compliance, HR, and facilities to embed security into business processes.
- Serve as primary liaison for external stakeholders: customers, investors, regulators, law enforcement, security integrators, auditors.
- Monitor compliance with UK, EU, and international regulations; identify KPIs and report on security performance.
- Build and lead a high‑performing security team, fostering accountability, innovation, and resilience.
