Job Description

Job title: KDB+ Developer – Financial Consulting Role Summary: Lead the architecting and development of a high‑performance, greenfield internal application using kdb+ solutions to replace legacy C++/Python components in real‑time trading operations. Deliver scalable, low‑latency time‑series ingestion, processing, and analytics for financial services stakeholders. Expectations: Contract engagement focused on rapid delivery, innovation, and client‑centric problem solving. Must own critical systems, ensure performance targets, and collaborate across technical and business teams. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build a greenfield internal application with kdb+ core technologies (Feedhandler, Tickerplant, tick, fusion). - Replace and enhance legacy C++/Python components, including building complex event processors. - Architect and implement high‑throughput, low‑latency data ingestion pipelines for large volumes of high‑frequency time‑series data. - Apply performance‑driven design principles to meet real‑time trading operation demands. - Analyze trading data and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders. - Own a business‑critical system, driving innovation in a fast‑paced delivery environment. - Collaborate with client teams to understand and support trading operations in large‑scale financial organizations. Required Skills: - 4+ years of software development with full SDLC experience (design, architecture, coding, testing, deployment). - Proficiency in kdb+ (QL) and core kdb+ technologies: Feedhandler, Tickerplant, tick, fusion. - Experience with high‑frequency time‑series data capture, processing, and analysis. - Strong performance‑oriented design and optimization skills. - Clean, efficient coding with thorough documentation. - Knowledge of C++ or Python advantageous for leveraging legacy components. - Consultative experience, stakeholder engagement, and strong interpersonal skills. - Analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred. - Relevant certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
