Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Developer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain performant, secure, and scalable backend services and APIs using Python. Collaborate with Product Owners, lead developers, and business stakeholders within an Agile/DevOps environment to deliver product enhancements and routine changes while adhering to CI/CD best practices and service level agreements. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality code that meets the definition of done and acceptance criteria. - Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and adhere to the team’s delivery framework. - Manage incidents promptly and support handover to dependent teams. - Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Continuously improve CI/CD processes and follow IQUW policies and procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python. - Refine business requirements into clear, sized designs ready for delivery. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. - Address product incidents and provide support to Pricing and Underwriting teams. - Maintain up‑to‑date product documentation and ensure comprehensive handovers. - Monitor applications using tools such as Grafana, Elastic, or Datadog. - Contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery culture. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage customer expectations. **Required Skills:** - Strong Python development experience and familiarity with best practices. - Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). - Version control using Git. - Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Grafana, Elastic, Datadog, etc.). - Scripting knowledge (Bash or PowerShell). - Containerization experience (Docker or equivalent). - Automated testing of Python applications. - Agile product delivery experience. - Effective communication, analytical reasoning, and problem‑solving abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate) are advantageous but not mandatory.
