Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer – SDK & Audio Engineering **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and optimize audio and spatial audio SDKs for gaming platforms, integrating solutions with Unreal Engine and Unity. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and industry best‑practice guidance for high‑performance audio experiences. **Expectations:** - Deliver robust, scalable audio modules that meet or exceed performance benchmarks. - Collaborate closely with game designers and engine teams to ensure seamless integration and user experience. - Stay current with emerging audio technologies, spatialization techniques, and VR/AR audio requirements. - Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality, architecture, and design discussions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement audio and spatial audio SDKs optimized for PC, console, and mobile gaming. - Integrate SDKs into game projects using Unreal Engine and Unity, ensuring compatibility and performance. - Optimize audio pipelines, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain high‑fidelity sound reproduction. - Benchmark competitor audio engines, conduct performance analysis, and recommend improvements. - Troubleshoot audio‑related issues across cross‑platform builds, working with QA and dev teams. - Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers. - Document architecture, API specifications, and best‑practice guidelines for internal use. - Collaborate on research and prototyping of new audio technologies, including VR/AR spatialization. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years of professional software development in audio or game‑studio context. - Expertise in C++ programming and strong grasp of audio DSP concepts. - Hands‑on experience with Unreal Engine (Blueprint/C++) and Unity (C#). - Proficient in audio processing, 3D audio, and spatial audio algorithms. - Solid problem‑solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to collaborate across teams. **Preferred Skills:** - Additional proficiency in C#, Python, or other programming languages. - Familiarity with FMOD, Wwise, or similar middleware. - Experience developing audio for VR/AR environments. - Background in cross‑platform (PC/console/mobile) development. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - No mandatory certifications required; relevant industry experience supersedes formal credentials.
