Job Description
**Job Title:** Test Technician **Role Summary:** Perform mechanical and electrical testing and inspection of products, record results, and verify compliance with quality standards. Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to safety and procedural guidelines. **Expectations:** - Execute test procedures accurately and efficiently. - Maintain high quality and safety standards. - Document and report inspection data promptly. - Collaborate with engineering and production teams. - Identify and report non‑conformities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Set up, operate, and calibrate test equipment for mechanical and electrical assessments. - Conduct functional, performance, and safety tests on products according to specifications. - Record test data, generate inspection reports, and update quality records. - Verify that tested items meet all relevant standards and specifications. - Troubleshoot test failures and communicate findings to engineering. - Maintain test equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure calibration compliance. - Follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at all times. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with mechanical and electrical testing equipment. - Strong attention to detail and accurate data recording. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and test procedures. - Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. - Good communication and teamwork abilities. - Familiarity with health and safety regulations. - Competence with standard office software (e.g., MS Office) for reporting. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and Science, or a relevant technical diploma. - Preferred: Vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Electrical/Electronic Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. - Desirable: Calibration or health & safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, NEBOSH).
