Job Description
**Job Title** FPGA Engineer **Role Summary** Design, develop, verify and integrate VHDL/Verilog FPGA solutions for complex systems alongside Systems, Hardware and Software teams. Deliver high‑performance, reliable FPGA designs within defined constraints and revision control, ensuring alignment with system requirements and integration milestones. **Expectations** * 12‑month contract * UK citizenship required; statutory clearance (SC) mandatory, existing clearance preferred * Proactive progress reporting and rigorous documentation of deliverables * Adherence to configuration and version control standards **Key Responsibilities** * Create robust VHDL‑based designs meeting system specifications * Verify designs using VHDL or SystemVerilog across simulation and hardware platforms * Specify timing, area and other constraints for efficient place‑and‑route runs * Manage design revisions, maintain and audit assignment of versions in a revision control system * Coordinate daily technical activities with the Project Engineering Lead, Lead FPGA Engineer and other disciplines * Conduct risk assessment and mitigation for FPGA‑related design decisions * Debug FPGA logic and provide support for hardware and system‑level integration and verification * Implement high‑speed serial protocols and related interfaces * Develop and maintain technical reports, design notes and integration documentation * Script and automate testbenches and build processes (Linux environment) **Required Skills** * Minimum 5 years FPGA design experience in VHDL or Verilog * Experience with Mentor Graphics toolchain (HDL Designer, ModelSim/Questa, Precision) * Proficient in Xilinx (ISE/Vivado), Intel (Quartus), Microsemi (Actel) design flows and third‑party synthesis tools * Strong understanding of timing/area constraints for Place & Route * Independent verification expertise using VHDL (and SystemVerilog) * Familiarity with requirement capture and management tools for FPGA projects * Knowledge of version and configuration control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) * Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to produce clear technical documentation * Debugging skills for FPGA logic and support for integration testing * Experience with high‑speed serial protocol implementation * Linux proficiency and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) **Required Education & Certifications** * Engineering degree (electrical, computer or related) preferred * UK citizenship; statutory clearance (SC) required (current SC clearance is an advantage)

Job title: Principal Systems Engineer (Facilities & Infrastructure) Role Summary: Lead the technical delivery and systems engineering for high‑value infrastructure projects in defence, aviation, nuclear, and critical transport sectors. Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle from stakeholder requirements to transition to service, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant and delivered on time, within cost and quality targets while mentoring junior engineering staff.
