Global Portfolio Management Overview

Global Portfolio Management (GPM) is responsible for managing RGA's investment portfolio to achieve net yield targets, support business growth, and optimize capital and balance sheet efficiency within a liability-driven framework.

GPM plays a central role in expanding RGA's investment platform and capabilities to support and win new business. The team applies a disciplined, collaborative approach--partnering with internal investment teams and external managers to make informed asset allocation decisions aligned with RGA's strategic objectives.

We deliver high-quality investment advice, execution, and performance by working closely with business units, legal teams, and the broader Investments Department. Our focus is on achieving yield targets in a capital- and risk-efficient manner, enabling RGA to accomplish its financial and operational goals.

Internship Overview

Performs portfolio management duties and works with Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of RGA's investment portfolios. Emphasis is on creating value through process improvements, engaging in real time workflow, and providing ongoing support to various members of GPM. The intern will gain exposure to a fast-paced environment, collaborative culture, systems, and practices in place at a rapidly growing institutional investment manager, as well as the chance to interact with the professionals working within it.

This is an opportunity to have an impact and work with a high-functioning team that oversees an expansive asset platform with broad capabilities across public and private markets.

Responsibilities

Develop process improvements to streamline workflow and influence real-time investment decision-making
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts on ad-hoc analysis and projects
Generate, recommend, and implement improvements or enhancements to portfolio management reports using BlackRock Solutions, Excel, and internal data warehouses
Ensure that investments are reviewed, analyzed, and accounted for in a timely and proper manner. May provide information on holdings and portfolio risks to portfolio managers, portfolio analysts, CIO, credit research, and investment accounting
Assist portfolio management group with executing on strategic asset allocation
Work with analysts to develop analysis that can be used in communications with the business lines and appropriate Investments leadership
Ad hoc analysis as needed
Participate in special projects, committees, and meetings
Work on other cross-functional projects as time permits

Requirements

Must be enrolled as a full-time college student pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial or related degree program at an accredited university
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
Technology savvy, programming and process improvement/automation skills
Creative thinker and self-motivated
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
Passion for financial markets, specifically fixed income
