We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to join our team on-site in Austin, Texas. Please note that only local candidates will be considered; all others will be rejected.
This role will support a strategic initiative to consolidate IT resources currently distributed across multiple departments into a unified IT division. The objective is to strengthen IT governance, enhance user access and security, and improve enterprise-wide visibility and reporting. Key efforts include evaluating current IT roles and structures, conducting position classification reviews, aligning personnel with an optimized organizational model, and inventorying IT systems/projects to support business priorities.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership, with strong skills in database management, data architecture, reporting, and process optimization. This individual will be instrumental in aligning data systems and architecture with enterprise objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases, schemas, and reporting structures.
Define and enforce data architecture standards to ensure scalability, consistency, and performance.
Optimize systems, processes, and workflows to improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
Establish and oversee data governance practices to ensure compliance and security.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices to team members.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data models, pipelines, and reporting systems.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a Data Lead, Data Architect, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of databases, schema design, and reporting frameworks.
Expertise in data modeling, integration, and process optimization.
Proven ability to design and streamline workflows for efficiency.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
Experience with data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in large-scale data environments.
Familiarity with reporting and analytics methodologies.
Background in structured project/program environments.
Public sector experience.
