Feldspar & Flint LLC is a NYC metro-based Talent Consulting firm that specializes in operational strategy across core business functions.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join a growing team and lead the development of scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, the Spring Framework, Microservices Architecture, API development, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
Architect and implement microservices-based solutions that are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
Build and consume RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
Deploy and manage applications in AWS and other public cloud environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, and QA to deliver high-quality software.
Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
(Optional) Work with HL7/FHIR standards to support healthcare data interoperability.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
Proven experience with microservices architecture and API development.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.).
Familiarity with public cloud environments and cloud-native design principles.
Solid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and performance optimization.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with HL7 or FHIR standards.
Background in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated industries.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
