As a Java Developer, you will carry out developments, perform related testing, and organize the team's work.

About The Role

In this role, you will operate within the SDS&C domain, a vibrant hub of five development teams tackling diverse themes from person management, cadastre management to social security data exchange. You will not only guide your team to success but also dive deep into Java development, collaborating across various sectors to deliver impactful solutions.

Key responsibilities

Adapt or create code based on project needs
Implement complex algorithms derived from technical analysis
Break down application changes into small, deliverable increments
Write and execute unit, integration, and component tests
Prevent regressions through rigorous testing strategies
Proactively identify and resolve technical debt
Ensure code quality and compliance with company standards
Manage deployment of new features and updates
Collaborate with the application architect to define suitable architecture
Produce technical analysis to guide design decisions

What we're looking for

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and incremental development
Ability to design technical solutions based on functional analysis
Ability to mentor junior and mid-level developers
Strong command of the Java ecosystem and J2EE stack (ORM/Hibernate, EJB3, web services)
Familiarity with application servers like JBoss (a plus)
Experience with SOAP and REST web services
Proficient in version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of quality assurance tools and processes
Proficiency in modeling techniques using UML and BPMN
Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other language
