About CareerGuy Coaching Incorporated:
Led by our founder Darrell Gurney, award-winning talent management expert, recruiting veteran, career counselor, executive coach, licensed spiritual counselor, bestselling author and speaker for MBA, university and alumni programs, CareerGuy, LLC, is a boutique career and talent management firm that's been supporting senior executives, sales leaders and other professionals for over 35 years. Clients have included senior leaders from Google, Microsoft, Intel, Shopify, BigCommerce, Citrix, Aramark, and Teledyne, to name a few. Programs have been conducted for MBA, alumni and professional organizations such as Harvard, Wake Forest, William & Mary, Tulane, USC, Belmont, University of Texas, FENG, MENG, Institute for Supply Management, eWomen Network, and Rotary International.
CareerGuy transforms the entire traditional career navigation process supporting a holistic and counter-intuitive method of personal branding determination and ownership followed by a game-changing relationship-based thought-leadership approach to transition. Clients come to CareerGuy for three reasons:
1. To step into higher-level roles that reflect their experience, skills, and thought leadership.
2. To reposition themselves within their current organization, often resulting in promotions and expanded impact.
3. Or to break out of the corporate mold entirely and build something of their own tapping into long-held entrepreneurial dreams.
CareerGuy also helps an exclusive list of companies with their executive search efforts (executive headhunting services).
While the current senior executive market typically requires 12 months to secure new roles, our proven system accelerates this journey up to 4x faster (aka in 12 weeks or less). In addition to the momentum experienced by our clients, our track record speaks through our clients' successes in making either transitions into new roles of fascination, passion and purpose or upward transitions within their own organizations into higher roles befitting their thought-leadership and stripes earned. Some even use our methods to create their own start-ups.
Examples:
A 20yr COO of a division of Teledyne utilized the CareerGuy program to transition into a unique role as a Fellow at the World Economic Forum for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
A Founder and CTO of a tech start up, rather than leave his organization due to a misguided CEO, gained awareness and support through CareerGuy programs to garner the attention and respect of investors to replace that CEO and now run the business himself.
A 24yr senior leader at Intel used CareerGuy's leadership programs and techniques to become GM of a new and independent internal startup within the organization.
These are just a few of the many examples where we've had the privilege to transform people's careers and, thus, their lives.
At CareerGuy, our dual focus--accelerating individual senior transition while providing exclusive executive search services to selected companies--gives us a unique advantage in understanding both sides of the hiring equation. Although our services have spanned various industries for decades, recent years have deepened our expertise in the tech market, though we still support all.
Basically, we are in the business of changing people's lives.
