About Lillup

Lillup builds privacy-first, offline-capable software. We're adding a mesh communication layer (integration of Bitchat open source) so our Talent Passport can collaborate device-to-device without servers or accounts. You'll help us adapt the BitChat open-source design into a production-grade mobile.

Note: This internship excludes any generative AI/LLM work. Scope is mesh networking only.

Role Overview

As a Mesh Engineering Intern, you'll prototype and harden a local-first, multi-hop messaging layer for iOS and Android (and a lightweight desktop test node). You'll focus on discovery, routing, reliability, encryption, and battery-aware operation under real mobile constraints.

Minimum Qualifications

Solid knowledge of Bluetooth LE on iOS and/or Android.
Experience in Swift and/or Kotlin.
Familiarity with E2EE concepts.
Comfort with mobile performance profiling and background execution nuances.
Self-directed, rigorous about testing and documentation.
