Job Description: API & UI Automation Tester

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled API & UI Automation Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in testing APIs and UI components, with a strong background in personal and commercial insurance applications. This role will focus on designing and executing automated test scenarios, integrating them into the enterprise regression suite, and ensuring overall application quality.
Key Responsibilities:
API Automation Testing
Design, develop, and execute automated API tests and frameworks to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
UI Automation Testing
Develop and execute automated UI test scripts using industry-standard frameworks to ensure a seamless user experience.
Guidewire Testing
Perform testing on Guidewire applications to validate functionality against business and technical requirements.
Test Analysis & Reporting
Analyze test results, identify defects, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with development, operations, and business teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage across systems.
Monitoring & Metrics
Implement and monitor automation metrics to track and improve test execution efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation
Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, scripts, results, and ensure traceability through JIRA QE boards.'
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
5+years of experience in API and UI test automation, preferably within insurance applications.
Technical Skills
Guidewire Software proficiency.
Automation Tools: Selenium, Postman, SOAP UI, GW GT Framework.
Scripting: JavaScript, Python.
Programming: Java/J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Web Services, JMS, JPA).
Integration: XML, GOSU, and experience with Edge API Layer and digital portals.
CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Git.
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure.
Certifications (Preferred)
API/UI Automation Testing Certification.
Relevant technology or process certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cloud-based environments.
Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
