We are seeking a skilled and strategic ServiceNow CMDB Specialist to collaborate on the enterprise-wide Configuration Management Database (CMDB) program. This role is critical to advancing our IT Asset Management maturity, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiencies and driving integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate on ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) strategy, governance and operational practices.
Optimize and govern ServiceNow schedules to ensure complete and accurate Configuration Item population, troubleshoot gaps, and align with asset and CI lifecycle automation.
Maintain strong partnerships with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Application, and Infrastructure teams to ensure CMDB practices are aligned with security controls, architectural standards, and operational requirements.
Lead CMDB data quality and remediation efforts, collaborating with CI and asset owners to resolve gaps and maintain integrity.
Support ServiceNow Service Mapping of IT Business Services, enabling accurate representation of service dependencies.
Perform end-to-end CMDB operational processes, inclusive of enforcement of CMDB data standards, policy controls, and governance frameworks.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must Have

Advanced CMDB Management: Deep understanding of ServiceNow CMDB structure, CI classes, CI relationships, and lifecycle governance.
Data Quality & Certifications: Ability to perform data certifications, tagging audits, and stale CI retirement to maintain CMDB integrity.
Discovery & Data Ingestion: Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting ServiceNow Discovery schedules, managing IRE sources, and integrating data via Import Sets, APIs, and IntegrationHub ETL.
Discovery Tools: Proficiency in deploying and managing discovery tools across asset types.
Service Mapping: Ability to lead and optimize tag-based and dynamic Service Mapping strategies using ServiceNow Discovery and Service Graph Connectors.
ServiceNow Module Integration: Familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SecOps, and SAMp/HAMp modules, including how CI data supports Incident, Change, Problem, and Vulnerability workflows.

ServiceNow SAMPro:

This position supports the IT Asset Management (ITAM) modernization initiative and the integration of ServiceNow SAMPro across platforms. The SAM Specialist will be responsible for managing software asset lifecycle activities, maintaining license compliance, and supporting data integrity across multiple repositories.

The role includes operational support for software license tracking, entitlement management, audit readiness, and reconciliation tasks. The candidate will also backfill SAM responsibilities as senior team members transition to support the implementation of SAMPro. This is a hands-on role requiring familiarity with ServiceNow SAMPro and software licensing practices.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile software license records, entitlements, and renewal schedules in ServiceNow SAMPro.
Support Effective License Position (ELP) planning, software attestations, and vendor audit readiness.
Perform manual updates and data certifications in ServiceNow to ensure inventory accuracy.
Normalize and validate software data for reporting and compliance.
Collaborate with IT asset owners, procurement, legal, finance, and IT operations teams to ensure licensing compliance.
Guide software owners on license management and installation tracking.
Support software optimization efforts and usage analysis.
Document SAM processes and contribute to day-to-day operational support.
Collaborate on software asset and license reconciliation between legacy DFS and COF repositories.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must Have

Data Quality and Certification: Familiarity with ServiceNow Data Certifications and software data quality processes to maintain inventory integrity.
Entitlement Management: Proven ability to create, maintain, and validate entitlement records in SAM tools, ensuring alignment with contract terms and approved product lists.
Excel Proficiency: Strong analytical skills and ability to work efficiently with Excel for reconciliation, reporting, and data validation tasks.
ServiceNow SAMPro Expertise: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAMPro modules, including normalization, reconciliation, entitlement tracking, and workflow execution.
Software asset and license reconciliation between legacy DFS and COF repositories. Will support integration of ServiceNow SAMPro to enable unified license tracking and compliance reporting across the merged organization.
Software License Lifecycle Management: Strong understanding of the software asset lifecycle, from procurement through retirement, including license types, usage rights, and renewal schedules.
