MDM Product Owner (Banking Domain)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Product Owner with a strong background in the banking/financial services domain. The ideal candidate will partner with business and technology stakeholders to define and deliver scalable MDM solutions that drive data quality, governance, and business insights. This role requires someone who can own the product vision, prioritize backlog, and ensure delivery aligns with regulatory, operational, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Product Owner for the MDM platform, owning roadmap, backlog, and feature prioritization.
Partner with business teams, data governance, and technology stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into actionable stories.
Ensure MDM solutions align with banking regulations, compliance needs, and enterprise data governance frameworks.
Work closely with Scrum teams to guide development, validate deliverables, and ensure alignment to product vision.
Define and monitor KPIs/metrics to track adoption, data quality improvements, and business value realization.
Champion data stewardship practices, ensuring master data domains (Customer, Product, Party, Reference Data, etc.) are standardized and reliable.
Collaborate with enterprise architects and data engineering teams to ensure scalable and performant solutions.
Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent role in the banking/financial services industry.
7+ years of hands-on experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Informatica MDM, Reltio, IBM InfoSphere, TIBCO EBX, etc.).
Strong understanding of banking data domains (Customer, Account, KYC, Risk, Compliance, Transactions).
Proven experience driving Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) within cross-functional teams.
Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance in financial services.
Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Agile Product Ownership (CSPO/PSPO) or equivalent.
Experience with cloud-based data management solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with API integrations, data lineage, and data privacy/security frameworks.
Prior experience with large-scale data transformation programs in banking.
