Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Quality Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the design, execution, and improvement of software testing processes to ensure product reliability, performance, and quality. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to identify issues early in the development cycle and contribute to delivering seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
Execute manual test cases to validate new features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.
Assist in writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts.
Log, track, and verify defects using issue-tracking tools.
Support test planning, test execution, and documentation of results.
Participate in sprint ceremonies (daily stand-ups, planning, retrospectives) to provide input on quality risks.
Continuously learn and apply QA best practices to improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Basic knowledge of testing principles: functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Exposure to programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript).
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
