Financial Accountant - 3-Month Contract

Contract: 3 Months (initially, with view to extend)

Rate: PS425 per day (Umbrella)

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the Liverpool Street area

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing, private equity-backed technology business on an initial 3-month contract.

This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who enjoys variety. You'll begin by supporting the month-end close process and ensuring the integrity of the core financials, before gaining exposure to finance projects, system improvements, and process optimisation work as the contract progresses.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Month-End Close (Initial Focus)
Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany entries.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
Assist with the preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
Broader Finance Projects & Continuous Improvement (As Contract Progresses)
Support process improvements across the accounting and reporting cycle.
Assist with system enhancements, reporting upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Contribute to finance projects such as streamlining reconciliations, improving controls, and supporting audit preparation.
Collaborate with colleagues across finance and operations to deliver insight and add value.

Candidate Profile

Qualified accountant (ACA) or qualified by experience.
Strong technical accounting background with hands-on month-end experience.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong Excel and analytical skills.
Prior experience in PE-backed, SaaS, or technology businesses is advantageous.
A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams.
