About the Role
They're looking for an experienced software developer with a strong cybersecurity focus to support the ongoing development of internal platforms used across the secure product lifecycle. This role plays a crucial part in helping engineering and cybersecurity teams collaborate more effectively, ensuring tools and processes are aligned with the demands of secure, high-performance flight systems and defense technologies.
You'll take ownership of custom software solutions that power cybersecurity decision-making, compliance tracking, and risk management across aerospace projects. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where security, usability, and performance intersect--and knows how to build tools that strike a balance between them all.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead development and enhancement of internal security toolsets, including systems that track cybersecurity risks across product lines
Maintain and expand integrations between engineering platforms, compliance tools, and vulnerability management systems
Design scalable software using Java, Groovy, and Python to support real-time collaboration and risk visibility
Serve as a technical lead within a specialized development team, mentoring others and driving best practices
Develop custom workflows and automation within tools like Jira to streamline cybersecurity assessments and approvals
Modernize legacy tools, reduce manual workflows, and enhance the user experience through intuitive interface design
Align tool capabilities with business and engineering goals by working closely with cybersecurity experts, systems engineers, and product teams
Integrate data from multiple sources to provide dashboards and reporting for leadership visibility and compliance documentation
Ensure all solutions follow secure development lifecycle principles and are built with long-term resilience in mind
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years in software development within secure or regulated environments
Strong background in customizing Jira (ScriptRunner, Java/Groovy scripting, REST APIs)
Experience with Python for building backend services or automation layers
Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead small technical teams
Familiarity with designing user-centric interfaces that translate complex data into intuitive tools
U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency (due to export control regulations)
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Background in product security or tools used in secure development pipelines
Understanding of third-party risk tools like Coverity, Black Duck, or SD Elements
Experience in cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, or containerized applications
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex systems with a focus on uptime and performance
Interest in aviation, aerospace, or defense technology
