We are looking for Sr. Azure Data Engineer for an enterprise scale client in Greater Toronto Area, Canada for an opportunity to work in state of the art, cutting edge technology environment.

Responsilbilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Azure services.
Implement data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure tools.
Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Synapse Analytics.
Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
Develop data processing scripts using Python or Scala.
Integrate with reporting tools for data visualization and insights.

Technical Leadership:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of Azure-based solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and roadblocks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
Understand and potentially work with SAS code for legacy or integrated systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Data Engineer and Technical Lead with a focus on Azure technologies.
Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Synapse Analytics.
Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing.
Hands-on experience with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Strong understanding of Azure architecture and services.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience with SAS or understanding of SAS code is a plus.
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer, Azure Architect) are preferred.
