What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Engineer Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions. This is a strategic, hands-on role where you will:
Technical Leadership: Define and drive the data engineering strategy, standards, and best practices across the organization.
Solution Design: Develop comprehensive high-level and low-level solution architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
Data Pipeline Development: Lead the design and implementation of high-performance data pipelines using tools like dbt Core/Cloud, focusing on scalability and maintainability.
Code Ownership: Write and maintain clean, reusable code in SQL, Python, Shell, and Terraform.
Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide and mentor Data Engineers, elevate team capabilities, and work closely with cross-functional partners (architects, QA, delivery teams) to ensure cohesive, customer-centric data products.
Agile Delivery: Lead agile ceremonies and foster a delivery-focused mindset, ensuring timely and quality execution of data initiatives.
What You'll Bring (Must-Have Skills)
You'll need extensive, proven experience to thrive in this role:
15+ years of professional experience, delivering over 10 high-impact data projects from inception to warranty.
5+ years of expert-level experience with Snowflake, dbt Core/Cloud, and AWS Cloud Technologies.
7+ years of coding experience in multiple programming languages, including Python.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of relational databases (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora), and hands-on experience with orchestration tools like AWS Managed Airflow.
Advanced Coding Skills: Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, Shell, and Terraform, with a focus on performance and reusability.
Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to mentor Data Engineers at all levels and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
A strong asset: Familiarity with insurance industry processes and systems, as well as experience operationalizing AI/ML & GenAI models.
