Note: this role will involve 4 days a week on-site, with 1 working from home. Candidates for this role must hold an active UK security clearance to a high government standard.

The role

We are looking for a platform engineer to support our data team in developing and maintaining Linux based platforms, with a core focus on secure by design requirements. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in security cleared environments before and will see you working with the wider team on advising the design and delivery of wider systems.

Core Responsibilities

Development of a Kubernetes stack providing tools and meeting SBD requirements
Updating security, software, dependencies, libraries etc
Set up and maintain Spark Clusters on current platforms, migrating to new platforms
Manage user accounts and permissions across IdP
Maintain the Delta Lake
Ensure secure by design assurance across the platform

What we are looking for

Excellent Linux engineering experience
Strong Kubernetes and Docker engineering experience
Confident in scripting languages eg python, bash
Experience managing and maintaining air-gapped networks and cloud platforms
Familiarity with HPC environments
Knowledge of security, encryption and compliance standards
