Overview

The Workday Configuration Specialist plays a pivotal role in optimizing and maintaining our Workday platform to align with business strategies and enhance the employee experience. This individual will manage configuration, customization, and governance of Workday functionality while providing expert-level support for both daily operations and long-term strategic initiatives.

As part of the HR Systems team, you’ll collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless, data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities

1. Workday Optimization & Configuration

Configure and maintain Workday functionality across multiple modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking).
Evaluate existing configurations to identify opportunities for enhancement, automation, and improved efficiency.
Partner with business and HR leaders to translate requirements into scalable and sustainable Workday solutions.

2. Customer Service & Technical Support

Respond promptly and professionally to Workday-related tickets, incidents, and user requests.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring minimal business disruption.
Provide consultative support, guidance, and training to end users to enhance adoption and utilization.

3. Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance

Conduct regular quality reviews and system audits to maintain data integrity and configuration consistency.
Implement enhancements that improve system reliability, performance, and user experience.
Document procedures, configurations, and technical knowledge to support team learning and cross-training.

4. Release Management & Governance

Manage Workday release cycles, including impact assessment, regression testing, and deployment of new features.
Communicate release updates and enhancement opportunities to stakeholders, ensuring smooth transitions.
Ensure adherence to data security, compliance, and governance standards.

5. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

Foster collaboration across HR, IT, and business functions to ensure alignment on system design and delivery.
Maintain the Workday knowledge base to ensure key information and lessons learned are accessible to all team members.
Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the HR Systems team.

Qualifications

Required:

3+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience across at least two modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking).
Strong understanding of HR business processes, metrics, and best practices.
Proven ability to diagnose configuration and integration issues through root-cause analysis and independent testing.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and urgency in delivering high-quality solutions.
Excellent communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organized, with strong project management and prioritization abilities.

Preferred:

Experience supporting Workday in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
Familiarity with Workday reporting, calculated fields, and integrations.
Strong analytical mindset with a passion for data integrity and process optimization.
Resourceful problem solver who thrives in fast-paced and evolving environments.
