At Crossing Hurdles, we work as a referral partner. We refer candidates to our partner that collaborates with world’s leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models.

Position: Mathematics Research Assistant / Math PhD

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $70-$140 per hour

Location: Remote

Duration: 5–6 weeks

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

Solve and evaluate advanced mathematics problems across multiple domains.
Review AI-generated solutions and proofs for rigor and correctness.
Provide structured feedback to improve AI systems’ mathematical reasoning.
Apply graduate-level expertise to strengthen theorem-based evaluations.

Requirements

Recent PhD in Mathematics (within the past 4 years) OR PhD candidate ≥2 years into program.
Currently enrolled in or graduated from a Top 30 Mathematics program.
Active in research/academia (or recently engaged within the last 4 years).
Strong background in advanced problem-solving, theorem application, and proof evaluation.
Ability to articulate reasoning clearly and identify gaps in mathematical arguments.
Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported).
