Job Specifications

Our Mission of the Business Development Intern is to drive and support the regional Business Operations teams across the US and elevate the SFE brand. The successful candidate will drive productivity and profitability to achieve set sales targets and drive sustainable, profitable growth aligned to SFE's strategic business plan. This position will provide direct support to the sales team to engage and nurture prospective clients, focus on developing new leads, and identify new opportunities.

Internship Length: February - May 2026

Hours: 9:30am-4:30pm Mon and Wed or Tues and Thurs

Willing to partner with students for college credit!

Learning Objective:

At the end of the internship, the student will learn how to utilize various media sources to market an organization and identify potential sales leads. The intern will also learn how to research prospective clients, identify client gap needs, and gain an in-depth understanding of the RPF (Request for Proposal) process. S/he will also learn how to collaborate with a team to advance marketing and development goals and gain first-hand experience on the importance of successful communication tools/skills. The intern will gain valuable insights into for-profit business administration in a field where State and Federal regulations are imposed, and compliance is strictly regulated. Lastly, the intern will learn how to prioritize and manage several projects at once; establish, maintain and grow a positive relationship with a myriad of unique clients, and provide on-going support to exceed client expectations

Responsibilities:

Aid sales team in achieving planned revenue growth and delivering mutual profitability for SFE and school district partners.
Print, produce, purchase, and ship promo items and marketing materials for tradeshows/sales endeavors
Maintain adequate par levels of marketing materials/equipment
Collaborate with various teams to ensure all proposal deadlines are met.
Manage and track sales activities through CRM software (Salesforce). Build reports, dashboards, create record pages and fields, and manage the pipeline report.
Aid in scheduling and organization of presentations, pre-bid conferences and conference calls
Assist in the proposal production and management process
Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications/Marketing
Computer skills: MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
Customer service experience preferred
InDesign and CRM experience preferred
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Excellent communication and presentation skills
