Substation Project Engineer – Transmission | £750/day | Glasgow / Hybrid

Are you a high-voltage hero with a passion for precision engineering? We’re looking for a Substation Project Engineer to join a major transmission project operating up to 400kV.

Location: Glasgow / Hybrid (Site & Office Travel Required)

Start Date: July 2025

⏳ Duration: 6 Months + Extension Potential

Rate: £750/day Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical + RTW

What You’ll Be Doing:

Designing outline scopes, layouts, and Single Line Diagrams for new builds & asset replacements
Reviewing detailed contractor designs & witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing
Embedding safety by design principles to mitigate engineering risks
Supporting site teams to ensure quality installations with minimal network disruption
Evaluating tenders & managing specialist consultant services

What You’ll Bring:

Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer
3+ years substation project engineering experience up to 400kV
Proven background in Transmission sector
Strong grasp of HV substation design, operation & maintenance
Solid project management skills
Deep understanding of health & safety regulations
Full UK Working Rights
