This contract runs from the beginning of January to the end of April 2026.

Giant Tiger is seeking a Merchandise Financial Planning Intern from the following programs: Business, Finance, Administration.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is seeking to gain professional experience while pursuing a Business, Finance or Administration degree. As the Merchandise Financial Planning Intern, you will work closely with the planning team and have the chance to develop transferable skills and experience for your resume at a top Canadian retailer! Your responsibilities will include supporting in the reviewing of plans and various administrative duties.

Merchandise Financial Planning Intern, Role Highlights

Participate in team meetings and divisional merchandise strategy meetings.
Support with the reconciliation of store sales plans.
Complete and distribute weekly reports.
Ad hoc reporting and sales analysis as required.
Data entry
Work cross functionally with merchants, finance, marketing and store operations.
Complete an analysis and provide recommendations on a current business problem and present findings to a panel of merchandise financial planning (MFP) and /or category management teams
Additional ad hoc tasks as required.

Merchandise Financial Planning Intern, Candidate Requirements

Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Business, Finance or Administrative program
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Desire to conduct clerical and administration-based tasks
Ability to exhibit patience when performing repetitive tasks, ensuring consistent quality
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
