Job Specifications

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Infrastructure Programme Manager in Window to take full ownership of a business-critical Windows Server lifecycle upgrade programme, migrating the organisation's server estate to the latest supported operating systems.

This is a high-visibility, complex initiative that's already underway - and we're looking for someone who can confidently step in, take control, and drive successful completion. You'll combine strong programme leadership with hands-on delivery capability, ensuring that outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope.

Key Responsibilities

Take day-to-day ownership of the Windows Server migration programme, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity from current delivery.
Oversee the migration of the existing server estate to new, fully supported operating systems with minimal business disruption.
Manage dependencies, risks, and resources across multiple technical workstreams.
Coordinate with internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party partners to maintain delivery momentum.
Track and report progress to governance boards and senior stakeholders, providing transparency and enabling timely decisions.
Ensure the programme stays aligned to agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
Implement robust RAID management and change control processes.
Oversee quality assurance, testing, and acceptance to ensure readiness before go-live.
Drive swift resolution of blockers and escalations in a fast-paced environment.
Coordinate service transition to ensure workloads meet governance, service acceptance, and operational readiness standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering infrastructure lifecycle or operating system migration programmes within enterprise-scale environments.
Track record of completing large-scale Windows Server migrations or major infrastructure upgrade initiatives.
Strong resource management capabilities, ensuring the right technical expertise is available at the right time.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels - from engineers to executive sponsors.
Deep understanding of infrastructure environments, dependencies, and risks inherent in OS upgrade programmes.
Demonstrated ability to take control of in-flight programmes, rapidly assessing status and setting direction.
Comfortable balancing strategic programme oversight with hands-on project delivery as required.
Resilient and adaptable in high-change, fast-paced delivery environments.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud and modern datacentre architectures.
Experience working in regulated or large-scale enterprise organisations.

Interested?
If you're a results-driven programme leader who thrives in complex technical delivery environments and can bring stability, structure, and pace to a major Windows Server migration - we'd love to hear from you.
