Full-Stack Engineer (React/Python)

This early-stage startup is building a modern data platform that powers large-scale data processing, structured and unstructured data transformation, and intuitive user experiences. They are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer with strong React and Python skills who can own features end-to-end and operate effectively in an environment with evolving priorities and limited structure.

THE ROLE

This engineer will bridge product, frontend, and backend work, building polished component libraries, scalable APIs, and data-driven features. The role requires someone who can work across the entire stack: UI components, API design, backend data processing, and performance optimization. You will influence architectural decisions across both frontend and backend systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build a scalable, reusable component library for a React-based application

• Develop RESTful APIs that efficiently serve data to frontend and internal tools

• Implement backend data transformation and processing pipelines using Python (and often PySpark or Pandas)

• Translate high-fidelity designs into robust, production-ready UI components

• Build backend services for data ingestion, validation, and workflow automation

• Optimize performance across the stack from database queries to frontend rendering

• Design data models for both transactional and analytical workloads

• Develop and maintain comprehensive testing coverage (Jest, pytest, integration tests)

• Implement real-time features using WebSockets or SSE

• Collaborate closely with design, product, and backend teams

• Build internal tooling and dashboards using both frontend and backend skills

WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR

• 4+ years building production full-stack web applications

• Strong React, TypeScript, and modern frontend engineering expertise

• Proficiency in Python with experience in data processing frameworks (PySpark, Pandas, etc.)

• Experience building and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs

• Familiarity with database design and query optimization (PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB)

• Experience with Next.js or similar React frameworks

• Understanding of data pipeline concepts and ETL patterns

• Comfort working in cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and with Docker/Kubernetes

• Experience with full-stack testing strategies and tooling

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices

• Bonus: real-time systems, data lakes/warehouses, Databricks, LLM integrations, or data visualization libraries
