Test Data Analyst
Contract - Outside IR35
£360 per day
London (Hybrid - mostly remote)
Due to the nature of our work, candidates must be able to obtain high-level security clearance. To qualify, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
Digital Skills are seeking a Test Data Analyst to ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of high-volume operational datasets supporting critical national systems. In this role, you will validate that data is correctly transformed from multiple external sources into a common format, ensuring accurate and dependable decision-making. You'll act as the bridge between business requirements and technical data delivery, ensuring test conditions are fully understood, traceable, and well supported.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of test data for complex, large-scale datasets
Validate data transformations against business rules and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Develop and maintain repeatable data load processes, often across multiple test cycles
Perform data quality checks, validation, cleansing, and mapping verification
Work closely with Test Engineers and Business Analysts to ensure complete test coverage
Support realistic, scenario-based testing where individuals, records, or events must be accurately matched and processed
Produce clear documentation and maintain strong control over test data assets and changes
Skills & Experience
Required:
Extensive experience working with test data, large data environments, or similar technical roles
Strong understanding of data transformation, cleansing, and data quality principles
Structured, logical, and detail-oriented approach to problem solving
Confidence in handling large, structured files and varied data formats
Ability to interpret and apply ICDs, mapping documents, and rule sets
No coding required, but a strong grasp of technical data processes is essential
Preferred:
Knowledge of API testing, Jira, and Confluence
Familiarity with performance or security testing concepts
Experience or understanding of Java, Selenium, AWS, or Jenkins
