A leading fintech scale-up is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join its high-performing engineering organisation in London. This is an opportunity to contribute to a platform designed to improve finance globally — with real impact at scale.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, reliable systems that handle significant volumes of real-time data and transactions. You'll collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to deliver high-impact features that directly improve user financial wellbeing.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who values clean architecture, measurable outcomes, and meaningful user impact.
What You’ll Do:
Design and implement distributed systems that are resilient, scalable, and secure.
Own technical decision-making across architecture and implementation — selecting the right tools and patterns to meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and analysts to build features that deliver tangible value.
Contribute to technical strategy, support platform scalability, and lead by example through code reviews and mentoring.
Maintain a user-centred mindset, constantly measuring and iterating on how engineering decisions translate into product value.
Technical Environment:
Languages & Frameworks: Python, TypeScript, React, Svelte
Infrastructure & Tools: AWS, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, CI/CD pipelines
Ways of Working: Agile squads, continuous delivery, outcome-oriented culture
You’ll work in a collaborative, engineering-led environment where autonomy, accountability, and thoughtful innovation are valued over process-heavy delivery.
What You Bring
Proven experience designing and delivering scalable backend systems in high-growth or high-load environments.
Strong technical depth in backend development, with working knowledge of frontend frameworks or data infrastructure a plus.
Demonstrated ability to lead by example — writing clean, maintainable code and supporting others through mentoring or technical leadership.
A pragmatic, product-oriented approach to engineering: you care about elegant solutions, but you care even more about user outcomes.
Prior experience in fintech or regulated environments is beneficial, but not essential.
