Client Overview: Our client is a Miami-based startup transforming how people interact with government services. Using advanced AI, they streamline complex processes like passports, visas, and vehicle registration — making them faster, easier, and stress-free.

Role Overview: Our client is seeking a Back-End Oriented Software Engineer to design and maintain the systems powering our platform — including real-time communication, telephony, and task routing with Twilio. You’ll work with Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, REST APIs, and Socket.io, and collaborate closely with front-end engineers using Next.js and NestJS to deliver seamless user experiences. This is a hands-on, on-site role where you’ll contribute directly to building scalable systems and improving performance for a fast-growing AI platform.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services
Develop and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs
Implement real-time features using Socket.io and Twilio
Integrate Twilio Sync, TaskRouter, and Telephony
Collaborate with front-end engineers and product teams
Troubleshoot and optimize performance across the stack
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Requirements

3+ years of experience building backend systems
Strong in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
Proficient with GraphQL, Typescript, and REST APIs
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database design
Experience with real-time systems (Socket.io or WebSockets)
Hands-on experience with Twilio (Sync, TaskRouter, or Telephony)
