Janesville, WI (On-site ~1 day/week)

12+ Month Contract

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Release Manager to lead, coordinate, and optimize all software release activities across a complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for ensuring deployment accuracy, version control, rollback preparedness, and clear communication across technical teams. You’ll partner closely with DevOps, QA, Infrastructure, and Support teams to deliver high-quality releases across all environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the enterprise release calendar

• Coordinate deployments across Development, Test, Stage, and Production environments

• Oversee version control and artifact management using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and ADO pipelines

• Lead CAB meetings and secure approvals for production deployments

• Develop and document rollback strategies and contingency plans

• Track release performance and maintain historical documentation

• Collaborate with CI/CD engineers to implement release gates and approval workflows

• Communicate release status, risks, and results to stakeholders and leadership

• Ensure adherence to audit, governance, and compliance standards

• Support disaster recovery planning through release and artifact management

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years in release management or DevOps coordination

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git versioning, and deployment automation

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and hybrid infrastructure environments

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously and work effectively across teams

• Familiarity with CAB processes, rollback planning, and compliance requirements

• Experience with monitoring and post-release validation tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in retail or large enterprise IT environments

• Understanding of disaster recovery planning and execution

• Exposure to Rubrik, Dynatrace, or LogicMonitor

• Project management certifications (PMP, Agile)

• Experience with D365 or other major ERP initiatives
