Python Engineer

My client, a large finance organisation, is hiring an experienced Python Engineer to work on building and scaling modern APIs and services that sit at the heart of a major financial platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys clean code, modern Python frameworks, and building reliable data workflows within an AWS environment.

This role will be Hybrid London, Inside IR35, Start ASAP, 6+ months,

What you’ll be doing

Designing and developing high-performance APIs using FastAPI
Owning the end-to-end build of application APIs, integrations, and service components
Building and maintaining lightweight ETL pipelines and data flows
Working with PostgresSQL for persistence, models, and optimised queries
Delivering cloud-native applications on AWS with exposure to EKS
Implementing infrastructure and deployments using Terraform
Collaborating across engineering squads to deliver stable, high-quality applications

What we’re looking for

5+ years of hands-on Python application development
Strong experience building APIs
Good understanding of PostgresSQL and relational modelling
Practical AWS experience (EKS is a big plus)
Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code
