Job Specifications

Title: Quantitative Developer/ Python Quantitative Developer/ Lead Engineer

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possibility of Extension or Conversion to Full-Time)

Location: Toronto, ON- 4x/week in office- Monday to Thursday In person

Start Date: ASAP

Interview Process: Virtual (2-3 rounds) with Technical Leads, Hiring Manager, and Director

Compensation: $80-$85/hour

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Python-based trading and analytics applications
Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) for deployment and scalability
Collaborate with the lead engineer, QA, and DevOps teams on feature delivery
Assist in troubleshooting and performance optimization of production systems
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Must-Haves:

Strong Python development skills (data pipelines, backend systems, APIs)
Knowledge of Capital Markets (public markets, FX, equities, derivatives, etc.)
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Pluses / Nice-to-Haves:

AWS cloud experience (deployment, scaling, architecture)
Familiarity with Java, React, or DevOps pipelines
Experience working in systematic or quantitative trading environments
