Freelance Data Scientist Senior, Brussels Hybrid, mission until 30/06/2026 renewable

A leading Grid Development and Power System Planning team is looking for an experienced Python Developer to build an integrated, fully industrialized tool that will automate the preparation of network models used for grid connection requests.

This process is currently handled manually; your mission will be to turn it into a reliable, efficient, and scalable Python-based solution.

Responsibilities

Develop a full-Python industrial tool using both existing scripts and new modules to be created.
Structure, optimize, and document the code base.
Handle large datasets with high performance and clean design.
Work within a power systems simulation environment (load flow, network structure, generation/consumption patterns).

Requirements

6+ years of experience in Python development within industrial or scientific environments.
Strong experience with Python-based data processing, modular programming, and code optimization.
Background in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences.
Knowledge of electricity or power systems is a significant asset.
Excellent command of English; basic knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
