Position: Application Developer IV
Location: Burbank, CA - Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
Duration: 12 months
Compensation: $85 - 100/hr.

Summary
We're looking for a creative and motivated full-stack developer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. They demonstrate exceptional ingenuity in rapidly build lightweight, user-facing prototypes (including AI-powered ones) to validate ideas and generate insights before scaling. Their commitment to hands-on exploration and resilience in overcoming challenges is critical for the success of this early innovation team. They are equally comfortable writing code, wiring integrations and making smart use of existing platforms/tools to get to a working demo.
This developer is a proactive, agile thinker who thrives in early-stage, user-centric challenges. They have a proven record of engaging directly with designers, product and business leaders to translate ambiguous ideas into lightweight solutions that can be tested with users, refined quickly, and scaled when they demonstrate value. They embrace ambiguity, actively explore multiple technical approaches staying focused on how to deliver business value. Important: this is not a role for those who need "requirements” . Their track record shows an ability to move fluidly between experimentation and production delivery, leveraging modern full-stack technologies, cloud-native architectures, and agile mindset to unlock business value rapidly and continuously.
Key Responsibilities
Design & development:
Build end-to-end lightweight solutions that demonstrate concepts and workflows in days or weeks (not months), with enough structure to evolve into production solutions.
Use a mix of modern frameworks, cloud services, and low-code/no-code tools to deliver interactive, user facing experiences quickly
Hands-on in autonomously translating ambiguous / loosely defined business requirements into technical experiments, proofs of concept and lean MVPs
Collaboration:
Partner with business leaders, product, design colleagues and data / BI specialists to understand challenges and problem solve technology-driven solutions, often working with uncertain or partial information
Autonomously break down user stories and technical solution into small, value-driven slices that deliver meaningful end-to-end functionality
Adapt quickly to different problem spaces and surface insights that connect patterns across solutions / ideas
Quality & performance:
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code - even in prototyping to ensure clarity and reusability where solutions prove valuable
Apply automated testing and CI/CS practices proportionally: lighweight for prototypes, more rigorous as a solution matures or is deemed ready for productionalization
Maintain and improve prototypes to ensure they are usable, performant and reliable enough for stakeholder validation
Continuous learning:
Experiment with emerging low-code/no-code platforms to accelerate delivery, where appropriate.
Stay curious and hands-on with AWS serverless, modern front-end frameworks, data visualization, and AI/automation services
Required qualifications
Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills, with a proven ability to thrive in diverse, cross-functional, ambiguous environments
Experience (6-7+ years) in full-stack product development in fast-paced, innovation oriented and high-performance environments (e.g., startups, labs)
Experience with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., PowerApps, OutSystems, Cursor)
Experience in integrating Power BI into applications (embedding dashboards, connecting APIs, managing refresh schedules); familiarity with Tableau is a plus.
Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js).
Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js), and design handoff tools (e.g., Figma Inspect) to build responsive user interfaces that integrate seamlessly with backend services.
Experience in back-end frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot) with a focus on developing modular, maintainable microservices that interact via event-driven architectures (using AWS Lambda, SQS, Fargate, etc.)
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of modern engineering best practices (clean code, Git workflows, testing, CI/CD, DevOps, security, scalability); applied proportionally in a rapid prototyping context
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, related technical field or related work experience
