Job Title: Application Engineer / Optical Engineer /Network engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 12 months of contract on w2

· Develop, build & test setups to execute customer demos and trials.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in lab

· Manage inventory, logistics, schedules , shipping/receiving, IP addresses, S/W versions, etc.

· Support customer demos, lab trials, field trials, and early deployments in Nokia labs & partners labs

· Automation: Develop tools, write scripts which facilitates smooth execution of customer demos and trials

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Optical Communication.

· BS with 3 years or MS with 1 year of hands-on experience in optical network industry preferably in optical transceivers.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience

· Good Knowledge on coherent optical networks:

· Knowledge on transceivers/pluggable is a plus

· Proficiency in L2 and L3 routers and switches

· Strong proficiency in Python programming language

· Familiarity in other programming languages such as Java, MATLAB, VB.net, C#, and JavaScript

· Experience with SSH, Telnet, API based automation and testing and tools

· Hands-on experience working in lab environment turning up HW setups.

· Experience with Unix/Linux environments is a plus.

· Experience with test plan creation and execution for optical system trials

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

· Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
