Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead PHP Developer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers, architecting and developing scalable web applications, and ensuring the quality and performance of our systems.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in PHP frameworks (such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter), a strong understanding of backend architecture, and the ability to guide and mentor junior developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust and scalable web applications using PHP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, designers, DevOps, and=QA.
Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and technical architecture.
Review and optimize existing code for performance, scalability, and security.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Mentor junior developers and perform regular code reviews.
Manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and ensure delivery of high-quality software on schedule.
Participate in technical discussions, decision-making, and roadmap planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of modern PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
Solid understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js or React is a plus).
Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
Strong understanding of software design patterns, OOP, and MVC architecture.
Experience with performance optimisation, caching strategies, and security best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in team leadership or technical project management.
Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
