Overview

The Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) Adoption Team plays a key role in advancing Navy Federal’s data culture by helping employees effectively engage with enterprise data tools and platforms. Our mission is to increase responsible, efficient, and informed use of the Enterprise Data Ecosystem through targeted programs, training, and communications. The team leads enterprise-wide engagement efforts and partners closely with business units to ensure analytics adoption is both strategic and sustainable as we enable users to leverage data to further the enterprise strategy. We partner with Human Resources, AI Strategy, Enterprise Data Governance, MSO Integration & Engagement, Enterprise Data & Information Management, and Department and Division Leads across the organization.

This Summer Associate will contribute to high-impact projects that enhance data fluency, increase usage of the Enterprise Data Ecosystem, and support the integration approved tools and best practices. A key project will involve reviewing and refining our strategy for engaging data roles across the enterprise and improving the EDE user experience—specifically examining how these roles interact with emerging AI capabilities in an environment that is exponentially changing. This work will help clarify team member engagement, surface opportunities for upskilling, and ensure alignment with our evolving AI governance and enablement frameworks.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.

Responsibilities

Encourage an innovative mindset across the enterprise and ensure we are transforming not only technology but also the way the enterprise considers solving business challenges with technology
Liaise between business/journey leads/goal owners/product owners, development teams, and EDPS team members as necessary.
Participate in solving business problems by defining robust solutions via interviewing stakeholders, identifying and evaluating alternatives with a focus on transformative capabilities, and presenting findings
Track and manage requirements status and changes throughout project / product lifecycle via board/backlog management
Conduct requirements analysis and validation, ensuring requirements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, verifiable, and that they conform to defined standards
Create and communicate artifacts; translating business needs into executable requirements and acceptance criteria for delivery teams
May create and present executive summaries of requirements for senior stakeholders
Assist in influencing and negotiating prioritization of delivery across numerous business areas across the enterprise
Understand enterprise technology roadmaps across multiple business stakeholders and synthesize frequently changing inputs, priorities, and dependencies
Stay abreast of latest FinTech and analytics capability trends and technologies
May propose innovative solutions leveraging a combination of existing and emerging data and analytics technologies
Support and enable agile way of working across technical and functional teams
Other duties as assigned
Maintain backlog of business needs and transformation objectives and works with team capability strategy team to prioritize in an iterative and agile framework

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a master’s degree in in a relevant field such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
A working knowledge of enterprise data roles—including analysts, engineers, and stewards—and how these roles contribute to a robust data ecosystem.
Familiarity with tools including SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, and/or VS Code.
Interest in responsible AI practices, model governance, or AI enablement strategies.
Strong communication skills to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable insights.
Experience with stakeholder engagement, change management, or cross-functional collaboration.
Exposure to driving capability roadmap and prioritization with business stakeholders
Experience in the banking/financial services industry and deep understanding of industry trends, products, and services
Exposure to working in a large-scale IT and/or financial services organization with responsibility for the technology strategy relating to business transformation via digital experience platforms and processes, cloud-native, etc.
Familiarity with FinTech space and emerging technologies (Cloud, Data Virtualization, etc.)
