SC-Cleared Test Director (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Hybrid: 2/3 days on site just outside London (South of England)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Duration: Initial 6 months (with possibility of extension)
Role Summary / Purpose
The Test Director will lead and manage the testing workstream for a high-profile SAP/ERP implementation programme. This role will be responsible for defining and executing test strategies, ensuring all quality and compliance standards are met, especially given the SC-cleared and regulated nature of the project. The successful candidate will ensure data integrity, system reliability, and smooth delivery through rigorous testing and test management, while working closely with project stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the test management practice for the project: define test strategy, scope, approach and resource allocation.
Oversee the planning, execution and reporting of all testing activities (e.g., system testing, integration testing, regression testing, UAT) for the SAP/ERP implementation.
Manage coordination between development, data teams, business stakeholders, and end users to ensure test requirements are captured and aligned with business needs.
Ensure compliance with security standards. The role requires active SC Clearance, and all testing activities must adhere to security and confidentiality protocols.
Track and manage defects, issues and risk, ensuring timely resolution and re-testing when required.
Provide clear, regular progress reports, test metrics and quality assessments to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Active SC Clearance (must hold at time of application).
Proven experience directing testing efforts on large-scale SAP or ERP implementations (system integration, regression, UAT, data migration/integration testing).
Strong background in test strategy definition, test planning, coordination, defect management and reporting.
Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments, with understanding of data security, compliance and confidentiality requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management skills. Comfortable liaising with technical teams, business owners, data teams and senior leadership.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to report status, risks, and issues clearly and effectively.
Leadership and people-management skills.
