We have an opening for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst in our Information Security Department working second shift.This shift will operate from 03:00pm to 12:00am Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst will serve as first line of support for Information Security operational matters.This will include threat hunting, troubleshooting issues with security tools (such as VPN, email security, and endpoint security), triaging security detections, and performing routine maintenance tasks.This position will require collaboration with other business units, end users, and engineering teams to maintain the firm’s security posture. This position will required critical thinking and independent decision-making capabilities (through individual discretion and judgment) to effectively mitigate threats and engage with the engineering teams.The candidate must be willing to work a pre-scheduled second shift (03:00pm to 12:00am Easter Time, Monday through Friday) and be willing to participate in an on-call rotation. Qualified candidates will have a background in cybersecurity, IT support or related formal education.

In this capacity, the Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst will:

Actively search for threats, indicators of compromise, and data exfiltration within the environment;
Monitor and respond to incident and task related events utilizing individual judgment to determine the best course of action and actively utilizing discretion to remediate events;
Triage and remediate security detections.This includes escalation when to Tier 2/3 teams when required;
Assist Tier2/3 teams in implementing changes and performing routine maintenance tasks;
Create and maintain documentation support the security environment; and
Collaborate with various Information Security and Information Technology teams to ensure the overall security of the firm.

Proficiencies:

Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and translate security and risk management terminology in business terms;
A developed understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols;
A developed understanding of ticket flow and troubleshooting issues across teams;
A developed understanding security system concepts, including web filtering, firewall management, least-privilege access, vulnerability management, identity and access management, e-mail security, security risk assessments, etc.; and
Critical thinking capability that can be converted into actionable decision making and discretion to resolve issues and further project objectives.

Qualifications:

2+ years’ experience in Cybersecurity or related field (required) (whichever bullet point they want to use);
Intermediate to Expert level Cybersecurity Ops Certifications Cybersecurity Operations Certifications (ISC2 CISSP, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, etc.); and
Cybersecurity Operations Certifications (CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC, etc.).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $63,200 and a maximum of $87,050 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
