Client: VITA

Location: 7325 Beaufont Spring Drive, Richmond, VA

Engagement: 1-Year Contract

Work Arrangement: Onsite 2–3 days/week (Free on-site parking)

Interview Process: Initial WebCam + Potential In-Person

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Architect to provide strategic architectural guidance, technical leadership, and hands-on support for Azure cloud initiatives within the agency. The ideal candidate must possess deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity to diverse stakeholders.

Key Requirements

Local candidates only – must be able to commute to Richmond, VA
U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders only
Must be open to both WebCam and in-person interviews
Strong ability to articulate real hands-on experience during technical discussions
Must agree to work onsite 2–3 days per week
Candidate must be independently technically vetted (no AI tools during vetting)

Core Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance on Azure architecture, security considerations, and cloud design strategies
Deliver recommendations for lift-and-shift, on-premises to Azure cloud-native migrations, and refactoring initiatives
Conduct Azure proof-of-concept and MVP testing to validate architecture decisions
Understand and work with offerings from COV, MSI, and related partners
Configure and optimize Azure services in alignment with agency objectives
Execute responsibilities in compliance with required NDA protocols

Ideal Candidate Profile

Senior-level experience building and securing large-scale Azure environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly justify architectural decisions
Proven background in cloud migrations, modernization, and Azure-native services
A collaborative professional who can operate effectively with technical and business teams
