Job Description:

We are seeking an Audio Engineer who will be responsible for collecting high-quality multimedia data, setting up and calibrating recording equipment, and processing data using scripts and command line tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in sound and audio, experience in multimedia equipment setup and recording, and proficiency in data processing and management.

Required Skills:

Solid understanding of multimedia equipment setup and recording, gained from experience in a sound engineering or AV technician role. Including DAWs, audio interfaces, speakers and microphones.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of our data collections are correct.
Interest in sound and audio, demonstrated by activities such as playing a musical instrument, making audio recordings, or music production.
Excellent organisational skills and time management.
A good standard of day-to-day computing proficiency.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience working with large spreadsheets or databases. For example, working with data in Excel or in a database such as MySQL.
Programming or scripting experience, e.g. Python.
Familiarity using Linux and the command line would be a bonus.
Familiarity with visual positioning/motion capture systems
