Title: Senior Software Developer( Python/Node ) With GCP

Rate: $60 – $65/hr on 1099
LL Bean is seeking two experienced Senior Software Developers to support their Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Customer Engagement technology teams. These positions focus on developing and maintaining web applications, automation frameworks, and customer-facing tools built on modern cloud technologies. Ideal candidates will bring strong hands-on skills in Node.js, Python, JavaScript, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with a passion for building scalable and reliable systems.
Position Overview
As a Senior Software Developer, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications that drive key customer data and engagement initiatives. You will be involved in full-cycle development, automated testing, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration, helping build solutions that impact millions of customers.
This role is fully remote, but candidates who can work core US hours are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Testing
• Design, develop, test, debug, and document applications and components following technical specifications
• Build and maintain programs of low to moderate complexity to support business initiatives
• Write clean, maintainable code while following LL Bean’s coding, development, and security standards, including PCI compliance
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure best practices are being followed
• Develop and maintain automated test suites and frameworks
• Convert manual test cases into automated scripts and maintain an organized, reusable test case repository
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to estimate work and improve test coverage
Support & Collaboration
• Work directly with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Customer Engagement
• Provide timely support and troubleshooting for deployed applications based on user feedback
• Investigate and resolve production issues efficiently
• Provide regular status updates to technical leadership and project management
• Participate in planning sessions, technical discussions, and solution design
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud technologies (GCP preferred)
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Node.js and Python
• Strong JavaScript development experience
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming and object-oriented principles
• Experience working with and consuming APIs
• Hands-on experience using tools like Postman for API testing
• Understanding of modern development pipelines, cloud tooling, and testing best practices
Soft Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
